Discover Nosara
Nosara is laid-back, warm, and easy to navigate. You can walk or bike almost everywhere—grab a smoothie after class, head to the beach for sunset, or wander into town for coffee or shopping.
The beaches are wide and beautiful, the surf is consistent, and the pace is slower in the best way.
It’s the kind of place where you naturally spend more time outside — and feel better because of it.
Fill your days with movement, ocean air, and time outside
“If you're considering joining QCYF on a retreat, DO IT. You won't regret it. I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I was there. This isn’t just a trip or a break from routine. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after it’s over.”
-Jackie, Cuba Retreat, April 2025

Your Retreat Hosts and Retreat Leader
Retreat Hosts ~ Deshawn & Marla Thomas
Prior to knowing one another, Marla and Deshawn shared the same dream of helping people feel better. In their separate lives, they each sought exercise as a medium for healing – Marla as a dedicated yoga pracitioner and Deshawn as a semi-pro athlete and personal trainer. After they met, Marla shared with Deshawn her dream of owning a yoga and fitness studio. With his unwavering support and encouragement, Marla opened QCYF in March of 2016. In 2018, as the studio began to expand beyond yoga into strength-training and HIIT, Deshawn left his career in the restaurant industry to become co-owner and CFO of QCYF.
Retreat Leader ~ Autumn Spencer
Autumn first traveled abroad as an exchange student to Germany in 1989, the year the Berlin Wall fell. The experience was eye-opening and transformational, and it sparked a lifelong love of travel.
Since then, she has continued to make travel a priority, always looking for opportunities to explore new places.
She’s excited to be working alongside Deshawn and Marla to help people feel joy, embrace adventure, and make meaningful connections in new places.
This isn’t just a vacation.
It’s the week you finally slow down.
The week your body feels strong again.
The week you reconnect with yourself — without distractions, without pressure.
You don’t have to plan it. You just have to say yes.
“Truly incredible! It was one of my favorite–if not my favorite–trips I’ve ever been on. It was so interesting, eye-opening, beautiful, delicious, and so much more. Traveling without needing to plan and decide everything allowed for a really relaxing vacation.”
